Little Mahmoud loves the circus, and dreams of performing in The National Egyptian Circus as an acrobat. So Mahmoud practice hard several days a week with his mentor Kamal, who joggles Mahmoud on his feet one and a half meters above the ground in dangerous and daring acrobatic acts. But the day only has so many hours, and there is also so much homework to do. So Mahmoud struggles to live his dream, and keep his place above the ground, beneath the sky.

Niels Christian Koefoed has been dormitory master at the old prestigious danish boarding school ‘Herlufsholm’ for twentysix years. He lives alone at the dormitory along with the fortyfive boarding school pupils, who are intrusted to his care.

Now winter is coming, and soon it is time for yet another fortyfive goodbyes.
